Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 August 2026
Fuelcast is made by Risoris Group LLC. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no trackers. This policy is short because there is very little to describe.
We don't know who you are, we never ask, and there is nothing on our servers tied to you. The app is free, and you are not the product being sold.
What stays on your phone
The following never leaves your device:
- Pump prices you enter. If you tell Fuelcast what you paid, those prices and dates are stored only on your phone. The app works out a single number from them — roughly how far your station sits from the published area average — and sends only that. A price with a date says where you were and when; "about 18¢ dearer" does not.
- Your forecast history. The record of how our past calls did is kept on your device and settled against public price surveys. We never see it.
- Alert decisions. Notifications are worked out on your phone against public data. We store no device tokens and send no push messages.
What our server receives
To return a forecast, the app makes a request containing:
| Data | Why | Kept? |
|---|---|---|
| ZIP code | Selects the published price series for your area | Not stored in any database |
| Fuel grade, vehicle, tank size | Turns cents per gallon into dollars per fill | Not stored |
| Local price offset | Adjusts the displayed price toward your station | Not stored |
| IP address | Rate limiting, so one caller can't overwhelm the service | In memory only, discarded continuously |
We keep no user database, no profiles, and no history of requests tied to a person. As with any internet service, requests may appear briefly in short-lived operational logs held by our hosting provider. These are used only to keep the service running, and never to identify anyone, build a profile, or track behaviour over time.
What we never do
- No accounts, sign-in, email collection, or passwords.
- No location access. Fuelcast never requests it; a ZIP code is typed by you.
- No advertising, ad identifiers, or third-party ad networks.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of data. There is nothing to sell.
Children
Fuelcast is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Third parties we rely on
- U.S. Energy Information Administration — public fuel price data.
- Public market data — wholesale gasoline futures prices.
- Fly.io — hosting for our forecast service.
- Anthropic — used once every half hour to categorise public news headlines for everyone at once. No user data is involved, and the same result is served to every user.
News headlines link out to their original publishers, who have their own privacy practices.
Contacting us
If you send us feedback by email, we'll have your email address and whatever you wrote, for as long as it takes to read and reply. We don't add it to any list. Reach us at risoris@usa.com.
Your choices
Because we hold nothing tied to you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request. Everything Fuelcast stores about you lives on your phone and is removed entirely when you delete the app.
Changes
If this policy changes we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change ever meant collecting something we don't collect today, we'd say so plainly in the app before it took effect.
